As the official representative of FIRA Barcelona in the UK and Ireland, Expandys promotes some of the world’s leading events. Smart City Expo World Congress, is one such event where public and private sectors get together to showcase and discuss their ideas, solutions and advanced technologies to transform cities.
Held in Barcelona every year in November, the event is organized by Fira Barcelona with the support of the City Council of Barcelona, the Spanish Government, the World Bank and UN Habitat.
The Smart City Expo World Congress program features some of the most innovative speakers on urban technology. It is structured along six main themes (Smart Society, Technology, Governance, Energy, Mobility and Sustainable City). The event provides the strategies and tools necessary to drive knowledge sharing forward, develop associations and create business opportunities in this new market for urban solutions and technologies.
Following four successful editions, SCEWC has become the international reference point for events related to cities’ representatives, municipalities, public institutions, businesses, universities, experts and key decision makers from all around the world. The 2014 edition brought together over 400 cities, 242 companies and more than 10000 visitors.
Expandys is closely associated with the event and therefore fully contributes to its success. In the last edition Expandys was responsible for bringing 216 UK visitors, 232 sqm of bookings in the exhibition area, and 15 UK cities with the collaboration of UKTI.
